Servings: 4

Skill: Medium

Preparation Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 large apples
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 100 g. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 100 ml. liquid cream for whipping
  • 10 g. butter
  • ½ tsp table salt
  • Crunchy Almonds

Preparation:

First, thoroughly wash the apples and remove their core. Insert a stick of cinnamon in the center of each apple and place them on an oven tray. Bake the apples at 200º C for 30-35 minutes or until they are tender.

While the apples are baking, prepare the salty caramel. In a saucepan, combine the sugar with the tablespoon of water. Mix and let simmer at a medium flame without stirring until it browns.

Take the saucepan off the flame and add the butter at room temperature. Do not move the mixture with a spoon, only move the saucepan gently so that the butter melts.

Once melted, add the very hot cream and salt and stir well using a spatula. Put back on a medium flame and let cook for a few minutes longer while stirring well so that all the ingredients completely dissolve.

Once you have removed the apples from the oven, serve after pouring the prepared salty caramel over them and adding pieces of crunchy almonds.
